Stories Meet Love Stories"

I'm thrilled to have been invited to sign my books at the Mashpee Commons Block Party on June 24th!  All seven of my titles, most set on Cape Cod, will be available for purchase at the wonderful Market Street Bookshop, and I'll be at a table outside to chat and sign books! If you’re on Cape Cod for the weekend, the summer, or year-round, come by and browse some new beach reads!  And signed books make both great gifts and great souvenirs of your time on the Cape.  You can find the book store on, you guessed it…Market Street…right next to Trevi Restaurant and the big fountain.  If you've never visited the Commons, you're in for a treat, it's a beautiful and quaint spot right in the heart of Mashpee.

In addition to the sidewalk sales, the Block Party includes live music featuring the all-women a cappella group Cape Harmony, giveaways, face painting, and balloon twisting!

Market Street Bookshop, and my community, have really supported me since my first novel was published in 2012.  The owner of the book store named one of my novels, Dangerous Currents, as a Recommended Summer Read in Cape Cod's IN SEASON Magazine.  Two of my novels, Silver Lake and Gull Harbor, have been chosen by local book clubs and featured on the shop's book clubs shelves.  My books can also be found up front on the shelves dedicated to Cape Cod, and I've done numerous book signings there.  Our local paper has written an article on every single one of my books.  I am so grateful for all the support.

The Block Party fun will be ongoing from 11:00 - 3:00 (Cape Harmony will perform from noon to 2 pm).  For more information click here  📚 🎵 🎈 🎉 Hope to see you there!

Explore the Cape Cod Bookstore Trail for #IndieBookStoreDay! #CapeCod #IndependentBookstoreDay #books

Our local bookstore has been so supportive of me...here's one
of my novels, Gull Harbor, on their Cape Cod shelf!
Gull Harbor is a fictional town on the Cape, based on
Wellfleet, and this novel combines a steamy
second-chance romance with a ghost mystery.
This Saturday, August 27th, is Independent Bookstore Day, and here on Cape Cod, we have a fabulous event for readers to explore 22 of the indie book stores found throughout Cape Cod and the Islands!  Maps can be picked up at participating bookstores (or downloaded on Saturday), and many of the stores will have special events and refreshments.

I'm thrilled that my town's independent bookstore, Market Street Bookshop in Mashpee Commons, is going to display my novels on their Local Author table!  You can visit the store at 31 Market St., in the beautiful shopping area known as Mashpee Commons, and enjoy some cookies while browsing.  This wonderful bookstore has been so supportive of me through the years, hosting me for book signings every time I have a new release, and I feel very fortunate to have this relationship, and to have this shop in our community.

Then pick up your map and continue your journey, supporting indie bookstores and seeing the different towns throughout the Cape (and the islands of Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard, if you're feeling up for a ferry ride!  Here are some of my favorite sites on the Vineyard if your adventure takes you there ~ Visiting Martha's Vineyard)

Another one of my titles, Silver Lake, on the Local
Book Club picks shelf - what an honor!

I hope you'll check out my novels if you're in the Market Street Bookshop, and hopefully you'll take one home as your next beach read...many are set on Cape Cod, including my latest title, The Haunting of Hillwood Farm, an award-winning romantic suspense/ghost mystery.  Signed copies will be available!  Thanks for stopping by, and Happy Reading!

#Book Signing in #Mashpee! #CapeCod Holiday Fair Cape Cod

The holiday season is a busy one for small business owners, and I will be at several events this month with my novels...a signed book makes a great gift!  This Saturday, Dec. the 8th, I'll be at an Open House and Holiday Bizarre in Mashpee.

The gym where I work (my day job, lol) is hosting this event from 11:00 - 3:00, and while it's a women's gym, this event is open to ALL, men shopping for gifts, non-members, etc., so come on by if you're in the area!  The Fit Co. is at 302 Main St. in Mashpee (Rt. 130).

I'll have my book table set up, and I can sign and personalize copies of any of my novels--a great and thoughtful gift, for yourself (we all deserve to de-stress during the holidays, and what better way than shutting the outside world down, putting your feet up, and getting lost in a page-turning story?) or for the readers on your list.  Two of my romance/ghost stories are set on Cape Cod (GULL HARBOR is set in the Wellfleet area, HAUNTED SOULS in Barnstable Village), which is a nice local tie-in, and Gull Harbor is both a #1 Amazon Bestseller and a #1 Barnes and Noble Bestseller!  My latest romantic suspense novel, DANGEROUS CURRENTS, will be available as well, and that is also set on Cape Cod, in a fictional representation of Mashpee.

Ahhh....bliss!  The best thing about reading is that you can't
think about anything else while you're doing it!  The only
multi-tasking needed is putting up your feet and sipping a beverage!

And if you're shopping for a younger reader, I do have one Young Adult book, DIVINE FALL...a traditional paranormal romance filled with forbidden love and supernatural secrets, appropriate for ages 13 and up.

Oak Blush
Another one of our gym employees also has another business (Cape Cod Nail Company) and she'll be setting up a table as well, raffling off packages and offering specials.  Her company is unique in that she will travel to YOU for group events (bridal parties, ladies night out, etc.).  And she recently started her own line of nail polish, which makes a perfect stocking stuffer!  The logo on the bottle features the familiar outline of the Cape, and the names are plays on our local spots and sayings ("Oak Blush" instead of Oak Bluffs, "We're Gonna Need a Bigger Boat", a nod to Jaws being filmed here on Martha's Vineyard as well as the recent influx of great white sharks in our waters!)

We'll have other vendors as well (jewelry, clothing, etc.), food and drink, membership specials, salon, facial, and massage specials, gift certificates, and raffles, with proceeds going to Toy for Tots.  Hope to see you there!

Visit Cape Cod in Dangerous Currents and get lost in a
steamy second-chance romance filled with secrets and suspense!

Signing #Books in #Mashpee! Holiday Fair - Open House #CapeCod #Fitness Co.

As promised earlier in the week in my post on my local events, I'm doing a quick update on the Holiday Vendor Fair and Open House we're doing tomorrow, Saturday, Dec. the 9th, at the gym where I work (my day job, lol) - Fitness Company for Women on Rt. 130 in Mashpee.  While it's a women's gym, this event is open to ALL, men shopping for gifts, non-members, etc., so come on by if you're in the area!

I'll have my book table set up, and I can sign and personalize copies of any of my novels--a great and thoughtful gift, for yourself (we all deserve to de-stress during the holidays, and what better way that shutting the outside world down, putting your feet up, and getting lost in a page-turning story?) or for the readers on your list.  In particular, two of my romance/ghost stories are set on Cape Cod (GULL HARBOR is set in the Wellfleet area, HAUNTED SOULS in Barnstable Village), which is a nice local tie-in.  A little steamy and a little spooky...there's something for everyone!

Find my #Books at #Mashpee Commons this Oct.! #Ghosts #Romance #CapeCod Cape Cod #Halloween

I'm thrilled that Cape Cod 5 in Mashpee Commons is displaying my books in their lobby the second time this year--especially since October is such a great month for ghost stories!

If you're in the area between now and October 28th, come and pick up a signed book! The address is 10 North Market Street, and the "Commons" is a destination in and of itself, filled with familiar shops, unique boutiques, and wonderful restaurants.  Then head to Cape Cod 5, where you can grab a Halloween read (for something set on Cape Cod, try #1 Amazon Bestseller GULL HARBOR or my new release HAUNTED SOULS, both steamy romances mixed with ghost mysteries), put up your feet, and get pulled into a page-turning story!

It's truly wonderful to live in a community that supports local authors, artists, and businesses, and I'm grateful to Cape Cod 5 for the visibility they're providing, for free, for my novels.  Just having my books, postcards, and business cards out in the lobby is a wonderful opportunity--it gets my name and titles out there for anyone who might be interested.  After all, you don't get many readers if no one knows you're out there.

The Divine Fall cards have a treat attached -
little bags of Dove chocolate hearts and Hershey's Kisses...
because why not sweeten your day?

So huge thanks to my Mashpee community, and if you're not able to drop by but would like to check out one of my novels, they are all available both as ebooks and print books on retail sites such as Amazon.  And my latest release, HAUNTED SOULS, is even on sale for a few weeks, for only 99 cents on Kindle, Nook, and iTunes!  Happy Reading!

#Book Signing + Bingo! #Falmouth #CapeCod Cape Cod Events

Silver Lake is a reunion romance...
but Brandy's ghost has a message
to share...a #1 Kindle Bestseller!
As a fan of all things spooky, October is one of my favorite months...and, as usual, I have a lot going on this month, both writing-related and personal!  This past weekend had me traveling to Maryland (again), this time for my 30th High School Reunion.  This is something I've planned every five years since graduation, not because I was an officer, but because someone needed to do it, and I think reconnecting with old friends is important.  There's a special bond between people who grew up together, in my opinion, and some of the people attending were in my kindergarten class.

Those are a lot of milestones, from elementary school to turning 18 and leaving home!  In fact, I based a few scenes in Silver Lake on some things that my friends and I actually went through.  While the plot is fictional--Four former friends reunite in a haunted lake house in a final attempt to discover what happened to their friend Brandy, who disappeared their senior year...and two former sweethearts may get a second chance at first love, if they survive--some of the characters' experiences were based on real events.

On Wednesday the 11th, I'll be in Falmouth, at a Bingo Night Fundraiser.  This is always a good time.  The suggested donation is $20 (proceeds this month go to Defeat ALS), and that gets you 20 games (wear pink or purple for a bonus card!).  Complimentary light appetizers and a cash bar too!

Where do I fit in to this event?  There are a whole bunch of local artists and vendors setting up for shopping before and in between the games, and we've all donated to the cause as well as offered prizes for raffles.  The complete list of vendors is listed at the end of this post, so if you're in the area, please consider stopping by!

My books for sale at a local bank over the summer!
Excited to be asked back, especially in Oct. - great time for
ghost stories and paranormal romance!
My books will be displayed in Mashpee Commons, in the lobby of Cape Cod 5 Bank, starting October 16th.  I'm thrilled they've invited me back to offer signed books for sale.

Finally, on the 13th (FRIDAY the 13th!), my latest release, Haunted Souls, goes on sale for 99 cents on Kindle!  That's a 75% savings on hours of page-turning escape...and a steamy romance mixed with a ghost mystery provides a perfect combo to get into the Halloween spirit!

If you're in the area and interested in Bingo Night:
Wednesday, October 11th

5:30 to 9:30 at the Holiday Inn Cape Cod

My #Books on Display at #Mashpee Commons! Cape Cod #CapeCod #amreading

A few weeks ago, I went into our bank, Cape Cod 5, to set up a new account for a high school reunion I'm planning (the 5th one I've done, and no, I wasn't an officer, I'm just apparently a glutton for punishment), and I noticed the table in the lobby had a display set up for a new salon opening in the Mashpee Commons, the quaint shopping center where the bank is located.  At the time, I thought, "How nice for the bank to help promote the new shop," and I grabbed a little bag of sample products on my way out.

The next time I went back in, there was a new display for a different local business, and it clicked for me that the salon promotion wasn't simply part of a temporary shout-out for a new store--different businesses were being featured every few weeks.  So my mind immediately went to a program I participated in last year, at the bank my husband's office uses in Falmouth, the next town over.  That bank, Rockland Trust, decided to dedicate space to summer reading and highlight local authors, and they displayed my novels for a week, sold copies, and had me in for a signing on the last day, which was great fun and well attended.

Photobombed at the Rockland Trust
book signing last summer!

Actually selling products (my novels) is different from displaying signs and offering samples and coupons, but I decided it didn't hurt to ask Cape Cod 5 if they'd consider promoting my local "business"...it never hurts to ask, right?  They said absolutely, and were happy to offer me TWO weeks of displaying my novels and accepting payment for any sales made.  This is a fantastic opportunity to increase my visibility--even if people just take postcards or business cards, now potential readers who may enjoy my stories know they are out there!

If you're visiting Cape Cod from June 24th through August 5th, stop by the Cape Cod 5 in Mashpee Commons and pick up a signed book! The address is 10 North Market Street, and the "Commons" is a destination in and of itself, filled with familiar shops, unique boutiques, and wonderful restaurants.  Then grab a beach read (for something set on Cape Cod, try #1 Amazon Bestseller GULL HARBOR or my new release HAUNTED SOULS, both steamy romances mixed with ghost mysteries), put up your feet, and get pulled into a page-turning story!

#CapeCod Event - #Fitness, #Beauty, #Psychic Readings, + Shopping! #Mashpee

I'll be participating in a fun Ladies' Night Out coming up on Friday, in Mashpee on Cape Cod, and it's open to all!  I get to combine a bunch of my favorite things: fitness, makeovers, shopping, healthy delicious food, talking to psychic mediums, and socializing with wonderful women, all for a good cause!  I'll be mixing my two jobs (and passions): signing copies of my novels for readers, and also representing the fitness club where I work, which is hosting the event.  If you're in the area, come on by -- it's open to the public, and you can shop local vendors, get a makeover, take a class if you'd like, and sign up for a $20 reading with one of the two mediums booked for the event - they can explore your future with tarot cards or try to connect with your past by channeling spirits!  As someone who writes ghost stories, I've met with several psychics, and almost every time, I've received messages that were so accurate they gave me goosebumps.  I got to speak at length to several psychics when I was doing research for one of my books, Gull Harbor, as the main character is a psychic newly embracing her gift, and one of the mediums was actually distracted speaking to me, telling me spirits of loved ones had something to say. The things he passed along (at no charge) had me 100% convinced some people can connect this world with the next.

If you're interested in joining us for this event, it's at The Fitness Company for Women, 502 Main Street (Rt. 130) in Mashpee, on Friday, April 7th, from 5 pm - 9 pm.  Appointments with the psychics can be made starting at 5 pm.  Beauty appointments, such as makeovers, polish changes, and mini facials, will be first come, first serve.  Our popular "Fit Rev" group fitness clinic will be offered from 5 pm to 6 pm, and a barre class will be offered from 6 pm to 7 pm.  Local vendors will have tables set up for shopping, and I'll have all my novels available for sale and signing (personalized books make great gifts - Mother's Day is coming!).  Healthy food will be provided, and free child care is available.

While we've done nights like this before, the goal for this one is to celebrate the lives of two members who passed away suddenly and unexpectedly last month, and hopefully raise money to donate to their families.  Vendors and psychics will be donating part of their proceeds, and we'll have other fun offerings like raffles for donated items to help raise money as well.

You can find the FB event page below as well as a list of some of the vendors.  Hope to see you there!

#Psychic Fair in #Mashpee Cape Cod #CapeCod

I'll be signing books again this year at the annual Psychic and Health Fair sponsored by the Mashpee Boosters!  This is a great opportunity to connect with those who have passed on or explore your future for a discounted fee.  Private readings are offered with a variety of mediums, tarot readers, and psychics, plus local vendors will have tables set up for shopping - that's where you can find me and my paranormal romantic suspense novels!  Many of my books incorporate a ghost mystery or haunting, and are set on Cape Cod, so this event is a great fit for me.  In fact, the main character in Gull Harbor is a psychic herself...and when her job brings her to a sleepy little town on Cape Cod, she not only encounters a dangerous ghost, but also the man who promised to love her forever, then disappeared without a hint of an explanation five years prior.

Check out Gull Harbor ~ a #1 Amazon Bestseller!

#Haunting Author Events~ Cape Cod #Book Signings #Haunted #Paranormal

October is always a busy month for me, since the majority of my novels include mysterious hauntings, and ghost stories gain an even wider appeal as Halloween approaches.  In fact, the history of Halloween, or All Hallow’s Eve, links back to the Celtic festival of Samhain, a time when the barrier between the physical and paranormal worlds grows thin.  In the Christian religion, November 1st marks All Saints' Day, the day waiting souls would be released from earth.  All Hallow's Eve, then, was considered the last night for restless spirits to take their revenge.  While there are plenty of desperate--and sometimes dangerous--spirits in my novels, they're not going anywhere until the mystery behind their haunting is unraveled...no matter what the time of the year it is.

The Hyannis Library is on the MA
Registry of Haunted Locations kept
by the MA Paranormal Institute
But this is the month to celebrate all things spooky, and I'm excited to have three presentations coming up in the next two weeks, each one a bit different, and each one at a different library on Cape Cod.  On Wednesday, October 19th, I’ll be with Katie O’Sullivan, a fellow Cape author, at the Hyannis Public Library on Main Street in Hyannis.  This is a wonderful place to have a discussion about history and hauntings, as during one of my prior events there, I learned the building has been deemed haunted by the Massachusetts Paranormal Institute.  Parts of the building date back to the original house which became the library's permanent residence in 1908.  Katie and I will be there from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., chatting about the inspiration behind our books, the local Cape settings, and the various paranormal elements we’ve included in our novels: ghosts, mermaids, and a half-angel, half-human Nephilim, to name a few.  In addition, my latest novel, HAUNTED SOULS, is set in Barnstable Village, which is right around the corner.

On Tuesday, October 25th, Katie and I will be joined by another local author who writes for our publisher, Kevin Symmons, at the Osterville Library at 43 Wianno Ave. in Osterville.  We’ll do an author panel on spooky fiction, discussing not only supernatural and paranormal themes but also the dangerous human bad guys in some of our stories.  We’ll be there from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, with time for Q&A and book signings.

A photo I took of the Old Jail one evening.
Seriously, what's in that top right window?  It
was closed.  And there's something red in the
bottom left window as well.
Right before Halloween weekend, I’ll be at the Mashpee Public Library, 64 Steeple St. right near the Commons, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Friday, October 28th.  I’ll talk more in depth about the inspiration behind Haunted Souls: the Old Jailhouse, a structure built in 1690 and reputedly haunted.  A visit with my sister sparked the initial idea for my fourth novel, and I’ll share the story as well as the story of my overall writing journey.

Finally, I have some events for those who aren’t on the Cape…not one, but two, Halloween Bog Hops.  If you’ve never done a blog hop before, it’s a great way to discover new authors, win prizes, and enjoy posts about the season…all online.  You start at one stop on the hop, which will be a blog with a seasonal post and a giveaway contest.  My giveaways will be signed print book (either SILVER LAKE or GULL HARBOR) to my individual winner.  A group link at the bottom of the post will take you to the next page on the hop, and you can make your way all the way around, entering the individual contests along the way.  Each one also has an overall hop-wide giveaway with a Rafflecopter widget recording entries.  I believe both Rafflecopters will have a grand prize of a large gift card.  So be sure to stop back here between Oct. 24th and the 31st, and if you’re in the Cape Cod area, I hope to meet you at one of the events!

The Snarkology Halloween Hop is an annual tradition
organized by author Melissa Snark - 10/26 - 10/31

The ABA Halloween Hop is hosted by author Casi McLean
and begins on Oct. 24th.
