GHOST MOON Cover Reveal! #CoverReveal #amreading #books #paranormal #romance #ghosts #Gothic

I honestly do love ALL my covers, but this one is giving me all sorts of (good) goosebumps!  Check out the cover of GHOST MOON, my seventh novel, below!  As the title suggests, there is a haunting, and the characters experience quite a few episodes of goosebumps themselves.  But it's also a romance with some steamy scenes to balance out the spooky chills!

This book is set to release on April 15, and I'm thrilled to announce that Pre-orders for Kindle are already live!  You can order your copy below to have it hit your Kindle on release day...then put your feet up and get ready for a haunting mystery...What happened at Holloway House?

When Lark Cavanaugh’s life in New York City falls apart, she’s left reeling from a staggering betrayal. She escapes to Cape Cod, where a distant relative has left her an old house with a tragic past. Rumors of a haunting presence plague the abandoned home, but Lark doesn’t believe in ghosts…until she has no choice.

After completing his military duty, veterinarian Jesse Holt returns to his small hometown to take over his father’s practice. He soon finds himself drawn to the alluring redhead now living next door, but she has made her intentions clear—she’s moving back to the city as soon as possible. When frightening events threaten her safety, though, he can’t deny his protective instincts.

Unable to fight their feelings, they give in to desire…but another battle looms. Lark’s arrival has awakened a decades-old mystery, and the truth of what happened at Holloway House will only be revealed when it claims yet another life.

#CoverReveal! New Look for SILVER LAKE ~ Ghost #Mystery Reunion #Romance #paranormal #books

A haunting, an old flame, and secrets from the past...
My first novel, Silver Lake, has had a pretty interesting journey.  I spent years thinking about it, 3 1/2 years actually writing it, a year querying and revising (5 times!), and then nine months after I received a publishing contract (woo hoo!) going through edits and production.  When you sign on with a publisher, you do so with the understanding they will make changes and they will design the cover.  The very first cover I received for Silver Lake I absolutely adored...but when I showed it off on social media, another author with my pub pointed out it was very similar to hers (cover artists often use the same stock images).  It was decided my title had to get a new one.  I was disappointed.

I did like the new cover enough...it felt a little more spooky, and this *is* a ghost mystery/reunion romance.  But the font always felt "off" to me...a little sci-fi vibe maybe?

To my excitement, the book did well enough to attract the attention of Amazon's traditional publishing house, and they bought the rights for a 5 year period.  My little debut title hit #1 on Amazon again and again under their Encore imprint.

Now, the rights have reverted back to the original publisher, and the book had to come offline while the link and publisher changes were made.  Since this was happening, I decided to ask for a new font...one that (to me) suggests more romantic suspense.  They agreed to do this for me, and to incorporate my new status as a USA TODAY Bestselling Author.  Here it is, before and after!  What do you think?  Does the cover represent the genre and the blurb (below) to you?  I'd love the hear your comments :)

Original cover...font to me suggested aliens/sci-fi?  Just me?

New font!  All my covers have a light/dark theme
(romance and spooky suspense), and I think this font
ties in nicely to the fonts on some of my other covers.

Rain Anderson can't decide which is more unsettling--encountering the ghost of her missing friend, or reuniting with the man whose love she foolishly rejected. But one thing is certain: the past has come back to haunt her, quite literally.

Five years ago, Rain's tight-knit group of high school friends unraveled when one vanished during their senior year. Now, a parent's deathbed request has reunited the friends at Silver Lake, including Jason Lansing, the man Rain discarded.

Rain and Jason discover the powerful attraction between them has survived, but though Jason is willing to forgive, he can't let himself forget. The possibility of falling for Rain again is too risky.

Slamming doors, crashing objects, flaring fires--clearly the ghost has a message to share. As Rain and Jason struggle to unravel the truth, they must face a desperate spirit in need of help--and a burning passion that refuses to die.

The Haunting of Hillwood Farm ~ Cover Reveal! #Ghosts #Books #Paranormal

Here, it is, the cover of my 6th novel, The Haunting of Hillwood Farm!  What do you think?  I am so, so happy with how it came out.  This new romance +ghost mystery is going to release in less than 3 weeks, exclusively as part of the Love Under Fire ~ Romantic Suspense Thrillers Box Set.  The set contains 21 never-before-published stories, and you can get the entire limited edition collection for just 99 cents if you Pre-order now!  Plus, every sale helps support Pets for Vets.

After tragedy strikes, Callie Sinclair is left with a gift she never wanted—the ability to communicate with ghosts.  But when a desperate widow begs for her help, she reluctantly agrees to investigate the strange occurrences at Hillwood Farm.  She quickly realizes she’s dealing with a dangerous presence beyond anything she’s ever experienced, and something else becomes equally clear—the only other living person in the house, Mrs. Turner’s handsome grandson, thinks she’s a scam artist.  While she’d prefer to just ignore him, her heart beats a little faster every time he’s nearby.

Luke Turner doesn’t believe in spirits.  He’s moved back to restore the family farm, but living on the property serves a dual purpose—he can watch out for his grandmother.  He’s not happy about the sudden appearance of a self-described psychic, or his inexplicable attraction to her.  His initial suspicions crumble as evidence points to an actual haunting, but he’s still determined not to fall for Callie—the past has taught him it’s best to avoid relationships.

As Callie is drawn deeper into the mystery, she becomes the target of a vengeful spirit, and Luke can no longer fight his feelings for her.  Unable to resist their desire, passion ignites…even as the paranormal activity escalates to a final deadly confrontation.

You can grab your copy now to download automatically on 11/13, release day!  Just 99 cents gets you The Haunting of Hillwood Farm and 20 other Romantic Suspense Thrillers by USA Today and WSJ Bestselling Authors.  Plus, we're donating half of our net proceeds to Pets for Vets, a charity pairing shelter pets with veterans seeking companion animals. An spooky excerpt from The Haunting of Hillwood Farm:

With a sharp pop, the light went out, plunging the room into darkness. Callie stilled, her heartbeat filling her ears. Something rustled behind her, and the hairs on her bare arms prickled. Probably a noise from outside, she told herself, blinking as her eyes adjusted to the trickle of faint light from the open window.

Another rustle, too close to pass off as wind in the trees. She was rooted in place, suddenly very sure she was not alone in the room. A soft moan floated through the blackness. Panic gripped her, fierce and primal, clawing at her lungs. Did she have a weapon? Would it even work against whatever was here?
She struggled for air, a rancid odor filling her nostrils as she slowly inhaled. Death. Decay. Shadows shifted to her left, and her gaze jerked toward the movement. Behind the solid mass of her reflection in the mirror, the gauzy outline of a face peered over her shoulder. Empty eye sockets stared out from gray, filmy features, the hollow black holes somehow filled with menace.
A sob gathered in her chest, clogging her throat. Please, God. Let me wake up from this nightmare. Something cold and wet brushed against her upper back, and she screamed.

Someone close to Austin harbors a deadly truth.  Can Ellie unmask a killer before Austin becomes one more secret buried beneath the waves of Deception Bay?

Cover Reveal #4 ~ The Turning #Witches #RomanticSuspense #99c Box Set of 21 #Books!

A few weeks ago, I revealed the cover for Love Under Fire, a limited edition box set releasing in November, which will contain my latest romance + ghost mystery, The Haunting of Hillwood Farm.  I'm thrilled to be a part of this project, which involves 21 USA Today, Wall Street Journal, and Amazon Bestselling Authors each contributing a brand new story filled with passion, thrills, and danger to benefit Pets For Vets, a charity that pairs rescue pets with veterans in need of companion animals.  To find more info on Love Under Fire and how you can get your limited edition copy of 21 books for just 99 cents (!!!!), click here or find the links below after the cover reveal.  Because right here on my blog, as we build up toward release day, visitors get to see each *individual* cover and read the accompanying blurb...so keep checking back, because we have 17 more to reveal, including mine! Up today is The Witches of Storm Island, Book I: The Turning, by Linda Watkins.

It is the Year of Our Lord 1685 and fourteen-year-old Maude Prichard finds herself at a crossroads in her life.  A chance meeting with a strange woman who never ages set the young Puritan maid on a path littered with fear, superstition, and witchcraft.  A boy whose love is forbidden and an old man drenched in darkness and depravity will catapult Maude out of her well-ordered world and into a life fraught with danger.  Travel with her as she journeys from the Massachusetts Bay Colony to the wilds of Maine, where she will finally take her place with The Witches of Storm Island.

The Witches of Storm Island series serves as a prequel to the contemporary Gothic novel series The Kate Pomeroy Mysteries, the first of which is entitled Storm Island.

What do you think of the cover?  I think it's wonderfully striking and spooky.  I love the fact that this story is set in Massachusetts, which is where I've lived since 1998.  In fact, my hubby is from Danvers, which is right next to Salem, the site of the infamous Witch Trials.  Of course, me being a fan of all things spooky, we've visited Salem on numerous occasions to take in the sites and the history.  Wandering around Salem during the month of Halloween is quite a scene!

Just 1 of the many pics I took this past October in Salem -
people take Halloween decorating very seriously there!

In case you missed the other Love Under Fire reveals, here is the list so far:

1.  Reign of Fire by Casi McLean
2.  The Asylum by Aaron Paul Lazar
3.  Buckle Bunny by Pamela Fagan Hutchins

We still have 17 covers in the set left to reveal!  Some of the stories in the box set contain paranormal elements, and some a different kind of danger or enemy...but all contain page-turning, spine-tingling romance and suspense!

Sound good?  Pre-order the whole set for 99 cents today!  Links for Apple, Nook, and Kobo are below, Amazon is now available too!

Cover Reveal #3 ~ Buckle Bunny ~ LOVE UNDER FIRE #RomanticSuspense Box Set #CowboyRomance

We've already revealed the Box Set
cover, now see each individual one!
Because right here on my blog, as we build up toward release day, visitors get to see each *individual* cover and read the accompanying blurb...so keep checking back, because we have 18 more to reveal, including mine! Up today is Buckle Bunny by Pamela Fagan Hutchins.

The last guy to call Maggie a buckle bunny didn't make his eight seconds.

Every cowboy at the Cheyenne Frontier Days rodeo is hot for rising music star Maggie Killian.  But Maggie is laser focused on her songs, her next show, and her future.  She's not going to be any cowboy's buckle bunny.

Down-and-out bull rider Hank Sibley needs big money fast, so he strikes a deal with the devil to lose in Cheyenne for cash.  When Hank reneges to get Maggie to go out with him, the only thing standing between him and deadly payback is a pissed-off, buckle-wearing Maggie.

Gorgeous, right?  This cover feels like it matches the story perfectly, and Maggie seems like one kick-butt heroine.  I haven't read a lot of romances set around the rodeo circuit, so I'm really excited to get my hands on this one.

Cover Reveal! Dangerous Currents #book #coverreveal #RomanticSuspense

Who doesn't love a cover reveal?  Seeing the artistic creation that will be the "face" of months (in this case, years) of hard work is an unbelievable feeling!  Unless the author isn't happy with the cover, something that has certainly happened to a few of my author friends, and it's devastating.  Thankfully, I've really loved all of mine, and this one is no exception.  My fifth novel, Dangerous Currents, is a second-chance romance with plenty of suspense, although not what most people think of when they think of the genre "Romantic Suspense", which is why I'm going to try to clarify.  It's pretty much the same thing I've been going through with most of my other novels for years--Silver Lake, Gull Harbor, and Haunted Souls often get classified as Paranormal Romance, for lack of a better term, but they don't fit the traditional description, since these three books are a mix of romance and a ghost mystery rather than a main character being a supernatural being.  But, I digress...here we go, what do you think?  Blurb and Pre-order links are below the cover, done by the talented author and graphic designer K.R. Conway.

No ghosts in this one, but plenty of dark secrets, danger,
and of course, steamy romance!
Grab your copy on Pre-order!

When a costly mistake ends Malorie Montgomery’s career, she returns to Cape Cod in search of a fresh start.  But her plans for a new—and quiet—life are quickly derailed when she makes a grisly discovery in the woods, and her screams bring the one person from her past she’d hoped to avoid.  Dean Slater, the ex-boyfriend who broke her heart in high school, now lives in the beachfront community that was supposed to be her haven…and he’s just as hot as he was six years ago.

With his rough background, Dean always knew he wasn’t good enough for the kind, intelligent beauty who claimed his heart, but somehow he’d believed their love was strong enough to survive anything—until the tragic night she turned her back on him when he needed her trust the most.  Despite their painful history, Dean can’t resist the instinct to protect her, especially when it becomes apparent there’s a killer in their town.

Their former chemistry soon reignites, but Malorie has long accepted that her dark family secret has destined her to a life alone.  And when she uncovers evidence that makes her the killer’s target, a deadly confrontation threatens to destroy any possibility of a second chance.

Preorder Dangerous Currents to hit your Kindle, Nook, or iPad on May 3rd!  Print paperbacks will be available in May as well.

Cover Reveal! #Ghosts + #Romance #CoverReveal #amwriting

Yay!  A cover reveal!  I am so excited for this cover.  My publisher allows authors to fill out a “cover sheet” once a work has been contracted, and I spent a lot of time on this one, as I had a clear image in my mind of a perfect cover for HAUNTED SOULS.  We’re even allowed to link photos, so I chose a few from my Pinterest Cover Inspiration board…including the stock photo of the graveyard which became part of the cover!  That photo really resonated with me, since it closely resembles Cobb’s Hill Cemetery, the actual old graveyard on Cape Cod that appears in the book.  I am so grateful to cover artist Debbie Taylor for capturing my dream cover…and here it is!

Final edits are in, but I’m still anxiously awaiting a release date.  In the meantime, please check out the blurb below.  And if it sounds good, you can try one of my other ghost story/romances in the meantime: GULL HARBOR and SILVER LAKE.

Four years ago, Emily Shea and Staff Sergeant Brett Leeds agreed to part with no strings attached. Sparks flew during their brief affair, but fate intervened, sending Brett overseas. When an unexpected pregnancy derailed Emily’s own plans, her attempts to locate Brett were soon overwhelmed by the challenges of single motherhood. Now, Brett has returned home, and Emily is forced to share her secret.

Despite feeling betrayed, Brett is determined to forge a relationship with their son, Tyler. As the former lovers battle both their inner demons and their mutual desire, another presence enters their lives—Tyler’s imaginary friend.

Soon, however, the chilling evidence points to a different conclusion: a ghost has formed a dangerous connection with their son. Emily’s attempts to help both a lost soul and a friend in need spiral toward a deadly confrontation, and Brett must race to save Emily before he loses her again—forever.

Thanks for sharing my excitement today!

Cover Reveal - DIVINE FALL #angels #romance #ya

Who doesn't love a cover reveal?  This one is very, very special to me, for reasons I'll delve into in future blogs.  I love the covers of all my books, but I got to play a much more significant role in the process with DIVINE FALL.  This is my first Young Adult book, a paranormal romance involving Nephilim, and I really wanted a cover that could compete with all the gorgeous YA covers out there.  Well, I got it - thanks to the incredible talent of my cover artist (Claudia McKinney of Phatpuppy Art) and her partner The Font Diva.  DIVINE FALL is not available yet, but it will release later this summer.  If you have a Goodreads "To Read" list, you can put DIVINE FALL on now!

So, presenting the beautiful, breathtaking cover, with the blurb below!  Thanks for stopping by :)

After tragedy tears Jamie Brandt’s life apart, her only goal is to finish high school so she can leave her small hometown behind.  In the meantime, riding her horse is her main source of solace, until a mysterious stable hand shows up at the barn.  There’s something not quite right about the handsome new employee, and the more Jamie sees of him, the more determined she becomes to figure out what he’s hiding.

Dothan Reed came to historic Huntsville, Maryland, for one reason—revenge.  But his plan can’t move forward until he finds the missing piece he needs to enhance his powers.  As the only surviving Nephilim, Dothan is not only weaker than full-blooded angels; his forbidden lineage makes him an outcast in both worlds.  When he discovers Jamie is the key to locating an ancient weapon, he’s forced to interact with a vulnerable human girl—a task that becomes more appealing with each encounter.

Jamie soon learns Dothan isn’t the only one with a dark secret.  Each new revelation further threatens her safety, and Dothan’s betrayal shatters her heart.  Forgiving him seems impossible, but the thought of turning her back on him is equally painful.

As their connection deepens, Dothan will have to make his own difficult choice: continue on his path of vengeance, or protect the girl he loves.  And when Dothan’s actions thrust Jamie into an unforeseen danger, he must seek the help of his enemy…or risk losing her forever.

Gull Harbor Cover Reveal - Kathryn Knight

Thankfully, I've had many inquiries about my next release...Gull Harbor is also a romance with paranormal elements, and I'm very excited about this book.  While I don't have a firm release date yet, I DO have the approved blurb and cover art to share!  Today I'm featuring the cover, by artist Rae Monet.  It's absolutely gorgeous, and it brings together the main elements of my fictional seaside town of Gull Harbor: the coastal waters surrounding the jutting arm of Cape Cod, and the isolated wilderness between the ocean and the bay, dotted with kettle ponds and woodlands.  While the house portrayed on the cover is not meant to be "the" actual haunted house in the book, it accurately conveys the town I've created in my mind...a place that, while beautiful enough to draw tourists from around the world in the summertime, grows eerily quiet in the off-season...a place where secrets may hide and ghosts may lurk...and a place where two people with a painful past find themselves unexpectedly thrown together to face dangers that extend beyond the paranormal.  I hope you enjoy the sneak peek at the cover - blurb to come soon!
