Stories Meet Love Stories"

I'm thrilled to have been invited to sign my books at the Mashpee Commons Block Party on June 24th!  All seven of my titles, most set on Cape Cod, will be available for purchase at the wonderful Market Street Bookshop, and I'll be at a table outside to chat and sign books! If you’re on Cape Cod for the weekend, the summer, or year-round, come by and browse some new beach reads!  And signed books make both great gifts and great souvenirs of your time on the Cape.  You can find the book store on, you guessed it…Market Street…right next to Trevi Restaurant and the big fountain.  If you've never visited the Commons, you're in for a treat, it's a beautiful and quaint spot right in the heart of Mashpee.

In addition to the sidewalk sales, the Block Party includes live music featuring the all-women a cappella group Cape Harmony, giveaways, face painting, and balloon twisting!

Market Street Bookshop, and my community, have really supported me since my first novel was published in 2012.  The owner of the book store named one of my novels, Dangerous Currents, as a Recommended Summer Read in Cape Cod's IN SEASON Magazine.  Two of my novels, Silver Lake and Gull Harbor, have been chosen by local book clubs and featured on the shop's book clubs shelves.  My books can also be found up front on the shelves dedicated to Cape Cod, and I've done numerous book signings there.  Our local paper has written an article on every single one of my books.  I am so grateful for all the support.

The Block Party fun will be ongoing from 11:00 - 3:00 (Cape Harmony will perform from noon to 2 pm).  For more information click here  📚 🎵 🎈 🎉 Hope to see you there!

Dangerous Currents made Cape Cod's IN SEASON Magazine
as one Market Street Bookshop's picks for summer reads!
This Romantic Suspense is a bookstore recommended summer read, and I've included a few of my favorite review site quotes below.  Thanks for stopping by and happy reading!

"The suspense of who-done-it leaves you on the edge of your seat.  If you enjoy a romantic suspense that plays with your mind while the romance tugs at your heart, Dangerous Currents needs to be on your TBR list!" ~  Forget the Housework, I'm Reading (5*s)

"I'm a huge Romantic Suspense fan, and I must admit, Dangerous Currents kept me guessing until the very end.  Malorie and Dean are addictive to read...The second chance romance lit up my e-reader.  Talk about intense!  I started reading and couldn't stop...yes, it was that good!  Highly recommend." ~ N.N. Light's Book Heaven (5*s)

"Ms. Knight knows how to bring her characters to life!  We are invited into their heads, their hearts, to hear their thoughts, feel their fears...The tension that runs through Kathryn Knight's words, each page and scene, is razor sharp.  I love a story where I can honestly say 'I didn't see THAT coming!'  A second chance at romance, layers of suspense...priceless reading!" ~ Tome Tender Book Blog (5*s)

My #Book Made Cape Cod IN SEASON Magazine! Recommended Beach Reads #CapeCod #amreading #RomanticSuspense

Aside from writing, I work at a gym, and a few weeks ago, members started asking if I'd seen that I was in a local magazine.  I hadn't--in fact, I had no idea what they were talking about.  I tried to google myself but got no recent results.  But then they began bringing in the copies for me, and it was true!  The June edition of Cape Cod's IN SEASON magazine had an article entitled "Lazy, Hazy Days of Summer Reading" and the author, Christine Lynch, asked three local bookstore owners and two librarians for their recommendations of the best beach reads of the summer.  To quote from the article, "here are some hand-picked suggestions from outstanding sources.  Three of the Cape's quality book shops and two librarians, all experts in advising readers, narrowed down the bounty of good reads to help you find your special book".

I was thrilled to see the owner of Market Street Bookshop in Mashpee Commons recommended Dangerous Currents as one of their store picks!  Dangerous Currents is a steamy second-chance romance filled with secrets and suspense, set on the shores of Cape Cod.  Signed copies are available at Market Street Bookshop, but if you're not local, both paperback and e-book versions are available on Amazon. The blurb is below, along with a few of my favorite editorial review quotes.

When a costly mistake ends Malorie Montgomery's career, she returns to Cape Cod in search of a fresh start. But her plans for a new--and quiet--life are quickly derailed when she makes a grisly discovery in the woods, and her screams bring the one person from her past she'd hoped to avoid. Dean Slater, the ex-boyfriend who broke her heart in high school, now lives in the beachfront community that was supposed to be her haven...and he's just as hot as he was six years ago.

With his rough background, Dean always knew he wasn't good enough for the kind, intelligent beauty who claimed his heart, but somehow he'd believed their love was strong enough to survive anything--until the tragic night she turned her back on him when he needed her trust the most. Despite their painful history, Dean can't resist the instinct to protect her, especially when it becomes apparent there's a killer in their town.

Their former chemistry soon reignites, but Malorie has long accepted that her dark family secret has destined her to a life alone. And when she uncovers evidence that makes her the killer's target, a deadly confrontation threatens to destroy any possibility of a second chance.

Visit Cape Cod for a whole lot of heat spiked with secrets and suspense for less than a buck!  DANGEROUS CURRENTS on Kindle

Happy Beach Reading!

Explore the Cape Cod Bookstore Trail for #IndieBookStoreDay! #CapeCod #IndependentBookstoreDay #books

Our local bookstore has been so supportive of me...here's one
of my novels, Gull Harbor, on their Cape Cod shelf!
Gull Harbor is a fictional town on the Cape, based on
Wellfleet, and this novel combines a steamy
second-chance romance with a ghost mystery.
This Saturday, August 27th, is Independent Bookstore Day, and here on Cape Cod, we have a fabulous event for readers to explore 22 of the indie book stores found throughout Cape Cod and the Islands!  Maps can be picked up at participating bookstores (or downloaded on Saturday), and many of the stores will have special events and refreshments.

I'm thrilled that my town's independent bookstore, Market Street Bookshop in Mashpee Commons, is going to display my novels on their Local Author table!  You can visit the store at 31 Market St., in the beautiful shopping area known as Mashpee Commons, and enjoy some cookies while browsing.  This wonderful bookstore has been so supportive of me through the years, hosting me for book signings every time I have a new release, and I feel very fortunate to have this relationship, and to have this shop in our community.

Then pick up your map and continue your journey, supporting indie bookstores and seeing the different towns throughout the Cape (and the islands of Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard, if you're feeling up for a ferry ride!  Here are some of my favorite sites on the Vineyard if your adventure takes you there ~ Visiting Martha's Vineyard)

Another one of my titles, Silver Lake, on the Local
Book Club picks shelf - what an honor!

I hope you'll check out my novels if you're in the Market Street Bookshop, and hopefully you'll take one home as your next beach read...many are set on Cape Cod, including my latest title, The Haunting of Hillwood Farm, an award-winning romantic suspense/ghost mystery.  Signed copies will be available!  Thanks for stopping by, and Happy Reading!

I’m thrilled that our local newspaper published an article on the new release and my writing career recently, mentioning the book signing event as well as some upcoming classes I’ll be teaching.  The article discusses the initial inspiration for this story: a ghost tour I went on with my sister in Cape Cod’s Barnstable Village, which started and ended at the Old Jail.

I’d never even heard of the Old Jail, and it’s truly a historic gem.  It’s the oldest wooden jail house in the entire country, actually, and is thought to have been built in 1690, on orders from the Plymouth and MA Bay Colony Courts.  The structure itself is quite small, containing three cells which held large numbers of people sometimes.  According to our guide, conditions were rough and people had to take turns lying down to sleep when cells were crowded.  As you can imagine, many people died, and the site is considered actively haunted.

On our tour, we were shown photographs with shadowy figures taken by volunteers who work in the jail house.  A few of the volunteers shared their stories as well, and one claimed that a ghost had followed them home and engaged in some poltergeist-like activities.  Well, that got my attention right way, and my imagination started churning.  My sister had her little daughter with her, and I started to wonder what would happen if a young child with sensitive abilities took pity on a lost soul, and actually invited a ghost to come home with them.  The initial idea was born.

Of course, my stories also have a romantic element, and that aspect turned out perfectly suited for Cape Cod as well, since it soon became clear to me that the male main character in my story was in the military—and Joint Base Cape Cod hosts a number of branches.  There are some pretty steamy scenes as Brett, an EOD tech, reunites with the one woman he could never forget.  But can they overcome their past?

You can find the blurb to the book here and the full news article online at this link.  Hope to see you at the signing…and stay tuned, I have more big news ahead!  A teaser: I’ll be signing books with my childhood idol and the queen of suspense…Mary Higgins Clark!  Check back for more info!
