Literacy Night in Dennis-Yarmouth! #CapeCod #Author Event #Books #Barnstable

Forbidden First Love and Supernatural
Secrets in DIVINE FALL
I'm excited to be a part of the upcoming celebration of reading at the Dennis-Yarmouth High School this weekend!  Discover New Worlds at the Library will take place on Friday evening, March 29th, from 5 - 7 pm.  This is a free event open to all ages and communities, and the theme of the night is Sci-Fi and Outer Space (costumes optional!).

I will be part of the Author Panel, answering questions and signing books.  While my books aren't considered Science Fiction, I do home my stories take readers to new worlds...including some supernatural worlds, as most of my novels have paranormal elements.  Since this is a school-sponsored event, I'll be highlighting my Young Adult novel, DIVINE FALL, which is an award-winning Paranormal Romance featuring revenge, romance, and a rogue fallen angel.  If you've never heard of the half-human, half angel Nephilim, check out the book's blurb below!

Some of the other exhibits and guests!
I'm excited to see some of my Cape author friends at this event - at the table with me will be K.R. Conway, author of the Urban Fantasy series UNDERTOW, Mick Carlon, author of GIRL SINGER and other books featuring history and music, and Jim Hill, author of an upcoming graphic novel.  So there will be plenty of new worlds to visit, both fictional and real!

Join us from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at the Dennis Yarmouth High School, 210 Station Ave., South Yarmouth.

If you're nowhere near Cape Cod, you can still check out the titles by following the links!  DIVINE FALL is available on Kindle, Nook, and iTunes for only 99 cents!  Check out the blurb below, and hope to see Cape Codders on Friday night!

After tragedy tears Jamie Brandt’s life apart, her only goal is to finish high school so she can leave her small hometown behind.  In the meantime, riding her horse is her main source of solace, until a mysterious stable hand shows up at the barn.  There’s something not quite right about the handsome new employee, and the more Jamie sees of him, the more determined she becomes to figure out what he’s hiding.
Dothan Reed came to historic Huntsville, Maryland, for one reason—revenge.  But his plan can’t move forward until he finds the missing piece he needs to enhance his powers.  As the only surviving Nephilim, Dothan is not only weaker than full-blooded angels; his forbidden lineage makes him an outcast in both worlds.  When he discovers Jamie is the key to locating an ancient weapon, he’s forced to interact with a vulnerable human girl—a task that becomes more appealing with each encounter.

Jamie soon learns Dothan isn’t the only one with a dark secret.  Each new revelation further threatens her safety, and Dothan’s betrayal shatters her heart.  Forgiving him seems impossible, but the thought of turning her back on him is equally painful.

As their connection deepens, Dothan will have to make his own difficult choice: continue on his path of vengeance, or protect the girl he loves.  And when Dothan’s actions thrust Jamie into an unforeseen danger, he must seek the help of his enemy…or risk losing her forever.

Cape Cod #ValentinesDay #Book Event! #CapeCod #Romance

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a special Cape Cod literary event offered by A Book in The Hand!  “Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered” will feature readings of romantic scenes by eight local authors, everything from flirty to steamy.  I can’t wait to share some of my favorite sexy scenes, as characters I cherish finally succumb to their desire, despite all the obstacles in their way!  The only problem is – which books do I choose?  I’ll probably share some passages from GULL HARBOR and HAUNTED SOULS, since those are my steamier stories, and they are also the two novels set on Cape Cod.  For more info on this event, please read the official flier from ABITH below!  Hope to see you there.

"Hot damn, these two are smokin' hot!" ~
Romance 4 the Beach review of HAUNTED SOULS

ABITH (A Book in the Hand) will meet on Monday, February 13, from 7 to 8:30 pm, at the Jacob Sears Memorial Library, 23 Center Street, East Dennis. This time, ABITH will celebrate Valentine’s Day with a special program: *Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered* and we will explore love in all its literary carnations: good, bad, happy, sad, unrequited, reunited ― and red hot sex.

Eight local authors: Jennifer GostinKatie O’SullivanKathryn Knight, Claudia DillaireArlene KayWilliam H. Richmond, Barbara Struna, and Elizabeth Moisan, all novelists, will read from their published works, and you’ll hear the soft, shy, first flutterings of new love all the way to the steamy afterglow.

There will be time for some Q&A and a bit of discussion. Plus, there will be some Valentine goodies which you may enjoy as the evening progresses.

February 14 is also “International Book Giving Day”. Designed to encourage children to read, it’s a reminder that books make fabulous gifts for people of all ages. All the participating authors will have books for sale ― and they will make great presents for others, and for you!

A little teaser from GULL HARBOR ~ this scene will probably be read!

#Author Panel on Cape Cod ~ #CapeCod #amwriting #Barnstable

After a whirlwind of events in October, things have quieted down…a little.  I’m doing NaNoWriMo, also known as “National Novel Writing Month”, which requires devoting a lot of time to writing!  But I’m excited to be speaking this Monday, November 14th, as part of an author panel in Dennis.  I’ll be with two authors who also write for my publisher—Katie O’Sullivan and Kevin Symmons.  The three of us will discuss our “Writer’s Journey” and answer questions about our road to publication.

readers at another event we did together.

If you’re in the Cape Cod area, please join us on Monday night for this special format of the monthly “A Book in the Hand”, a celebration of the written word held at Jacob Sears Memorial Library, located at 23 Center St., East Dennis.  We’ll all have books to sign, in genres including paranormal romance, contemporary romance, romantic suspense, and young adult.  I’ll have plenty of copies of my latest release, a steamy military romance + ghost mystery entitled HAUNTED SOULS.  Hope to see you there!

Art, Word, #Wine Cape Cod ~ #Book Signing #Dennis #Barnstable #Brewster

It’s almost here ~ the most exciting book signing I’ve ever done.  Over the years, I have participated in some great events, but this Tuesday night will be more like something out of my wildest dreams: I’ll be part of a nine-author panel which includes some very well-known authors such as Mary Higgins Clark, Hank Phillipi Ryan, Sally Gunning, and Jacquelyn Mitchard.  To say I’m honored to be in such company is an understatement!  We’ll all be there for a fantastic cause: to help raise money for Dream Day on Cape Cod, a wonderful charity that brings children with life-threatening illnesses to the Cape.  I eagerly agreed to do the event with no knowledge of who else would be participating; to combine an opportunity to help children with a chance to share my novels is something I would gladly do any day.  But oh, how I wish I had video of my reaction when I first saw the promotional flyer and understood I’d be sitting at a table with Mary Higgins Clark!  I can still remember discovering her books as a preteen and sharing them with my best friend, a fellow reader.  Clark is an author whose books I read and re-read dozens of times, and the idea of not only meeting her, but signing books alongside her, literally takes my breath away!

Art, Word, and Wine will be held at the Cape Cod Museum of Art on Tuesday, August 30th, from 4 pm to 7 pm.  There is a $20 admission at the door, which goes to Dream Day on Cape Cod, and the authors are all donating profits from books toward the fundraising as well.  So if you’re in the area, come meet some famous authors, find some new reads, and enjoy wine, cheese and crackers, and artwork in a beautiful setting, all while helping Dream Day on Cape Cod achieve its mission.
