Another Check Donated to #PetsForVets! #Authors Giving Back #amwriting

A check for $1,725.00 to Pets for Vets
Portland, Maine Chapter!
A few weeks ago, I posted about my trip to Portland, Maine, to present a check for $1,725.00 to the Pets for Vets chapter there, on behalf of all the authors of Love Under Fire.  Twenty-once authors came together to write stories for a box set of Romantic Suspense, and we raised over $3,000.00 for Pets for Vets.

I'm thrilled to announce the other check has been presented--this one to Pets For Vets of Washington, D.C.!  Authors Judith Lucci and Fiona Quinn were there to represent us this time.  I grew up in the D.C. area, and I wish I could have been there as well...but we were all just there in April, and I head back again in June.  From Cape Cod, it's not a short trip!  But I'm so happy I was able to visit Portland for the first time...more on the whirlwind of things we did there in less than 24 hours is in this post.

Love Under Fire Romantic Suspense Thrillers Box Set is no longer available for sale...it was a 6-week limited-time offer to raise money for the wonderful Pets for Vets organization.  But the books that comprised the set are now for sale individually, so if you'd like to support the authors involved and grab some inexpensive new reads, all the books in the set are in this post, with buy links.

"The story was an edge-of-your-seat, nail-biting,
exciting one with a great ending" ~ Bookworms Corner

My contribution was The Haunting of Hillwood Farm, a romantic suspense + ghost mystery, set on Cape Cod.  It was a USA TODAY Bestseller within the set, and since it's been published on its own, it has earned Best Romantic Suspense of 2018 at N.N. Light's Book Heaven, a spot in the Top 40 Best Paranormal Romances on Reedsy, and a nomination for the prestigious RONE Awards at InD'Tale Magazine.  Recently, the audiobook version came out, so readers who love to listen can enjoy the amazing narration of Kristin James.

The blurb is below, along with links.  Thank you for stopping by, and Happy Reading!

After tragedy strikes, Callie Sinclair is left with a gift she never wanted—the ability to communicate with ghosts.  But when a desperate widow begs for her help, she reluctantly agrees to investigate the strange occurrences at Hillwood Farm.  She quickly realizes she’s dealing with a dangerous presence beyond anything she’s ever experienced, and something else becomes equally clear—the only other living person in the house, Mrs. Turner’s handsome grandson, thinks she’s a scam artist.  While she’d prefer to just ignore him, her heart beats a little faster every time he’s nearby.

Luke Turner doesn’t believe in spirits.  He’s moved back to restore the family farm, but living on the property serves a dual purpose—he can watch out for his grandmother.  He’s not happy about the sudden appearance of a self-described psychic, or his inexplicable attraction to her.  His initial suspicions crumble as evidence points to an actual haunting, but he’s still determined not to fall for Callie—the past has taught him it’s best to avoid relationships.

As Callie is drawn deeper into the mystery, she becomes the target of a vengeful spirit, and Luke can no longer fight his feelings for her.  Unable to resist their desire, passion ignites…even as the paranormal activity escalates to a final deadly confrontation.
